TYM CEO Dohoon Kim attended the '2024 Asian Leadership Conference' and presented new possibilities and future prospects for agriculture with global leaders.

TYM (CEO Kim Hiyong, Kim Dohoon / 002900), a company specializing in agricultural machinery, announced on the 24th that CEO Dohoon Kim was invited for the fourth consecutive year to the '2024 Asian Leadership Conference (ALC)' held at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul from the 22nd to the 23rd. CEO Dohoon Kim participated as a panelist in the session titled 'New Possibilities in Agriculture: Robots' on the 22nd.

The session included participation from TYM CEO Dohoon Kim, Professor Noboru Noguchi, a distinguished scholar in the field of robotic agricultural machinery from Hokkaido University's Faculty of Agriculture in Japan, and Professor Manoj Karkee from the Department of Biological Systems Engineering at Washington State University, who researches agricultural automation. The attendees, each an expert in their respective fields, engaged in a lively discussion on the direction of agricultural robot development, led by the session chair, Professor Yong-ju Kim from Chungnam National University (Director of the Eco-friendly Hydrogen Electric Agricultural Machinery Research Institute).

CEO Dohoon Kim stated, "For the advancement of agricultural robots, experts in various fields and agricultural machinery companies like TYM must act as a bridge connecting advanced technology with consumers," and added, "TYM is also developing autonomous tractors, telematics, and smart farm platforms through our subsidiary TYMICT."

"In a world where birth rates are declining and we are entering an era of an aging society, it is time to contemplate how to enhance agricultural productivity," he continued. "Governments, corporations, universities, and all institutions must come together to create momentum for the practical application of advanced agricultural technologies such as robots."

Just as this session has explored new possibilities in agriculture, TYM is actively engaging in the development of technologies that will become the driving force for future growth, seeking the potential for a transition to digital agriculture. Notably, through its subsidiary TYMICT, established for the development of advanced agricultural machinery, TYM is further advancing technologies for precision agriculture, including autonomous driving, telematics, big data, and artificial intelligence (AI).

Recently, in the tractor sector, TYM has successfully passed the comprehensive domestic test for 'turning and implement control' performance in autonomous driving with excellent results, thereby proving its Level 2 autonomous driving technology (equivalent to Level 3 by the Rural Development Administration) as certified by the nation.

Meanwhile, the Asian Leadership Conference (ALC) is a premier international event in Asia where political leaders, businessmen, and scholars from around the world come together to discuss and find solutions to the major issues facing modern society. This year, marking its 15th anniversary, the event was successfully held under the theme 'The Era of Hyper-Uncertainty: Innovative Leadership for the Future.'

CEO Dohoon Kim has been invited to the ALC since 2021 and has participated in sessions on various themes each year, sharing insights with global leaders. These themes have included 'Sustainable Agriculture: The Direction of Future Agriculture (2021)', 'The Future of Agriculture: Agricultural Data Revolution (2022)', and 'Agricultural Innovation Unleashed by Artificial Intelligence (2023)'.
